Email Domain Checker

Check SPF, DKIM, DMARC, MX and blacklists for any domain.

How it works

1

Enter your domain

Type the domain you send email from, or any email address on it.

2

We read the records

Craftora reads your MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, BIMI and MTA-STS records and checks 11 blacklists.

3

Fix what is red

Each problem comes with the exact record or setting to change, and a score out of 10.

Why emails go to spam

Gmail, Outlook and Yahoo decide where your email lands mostly by two things: whether they can prove the email really came from you, and how people react to your emails. The first part is your DNS records. SPF lists the servers allowed to send for your domain, DKIM signs each email so it cannot be faked, and DMARC tells receivers what to do when those checks fail.

Since 2024, Gmail and Yahoo require SPF or DKIM for every sender, and SPF, DKIM, DMARC and one-click unsubscribe for anyone sending 5,000 or more emails a day to them. Missing records are now one of the most common reasons legitimate email lands in spam.

What each check means

  • MX: where email for your domain is delivered. Without MX records you cannot receive replies, and filters distrust that.
  • SPF: a TXT record listing your email providers. Only one SPF record is allowed, and it can use at most 10 DNS lookups.
  • DKIM: a public key in DNS that matches the signature your provider adds to each email.
  • DMARC: your policy for failed emails (none, quarantine or reject) and where to send reports.
  • Blacklists: public lists of domains and IPs that have sent spam. Being on one can block your email at many companies.

Email Domain Checker FAQ

How do I check if my domain is set up for email?

Enter your domain above. The checker reads your MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC records, checks blacklists, and tells you what to fix.

What is a good score?

8 or more means your domain is set up well. Below 5 usually means a missing SPF, DKIM or DMARC record, which can send email to spam.

Why can it not find my DKIM key?

DKIM keys sit under a selector name that each provider chooses. We try 30 common ones. Enter your selector, or send one email to the Email Spam Test, which reads the selector from the email itself.

How long do DNS changes take?

Usually minutes, sometimes up to 48 hours. Run the check again after you change a record.

Is this free?

Yes. Domain checks are free with no account.
