Why test before sending
A domain can have perfect DNS records and still land in spam because of the email itself: a link shortener, a spammy subject, an image with no text, or a sending server on a blacklist. The spam test checks the real email, exactly as receivers see it, so you find these problems before your prospects do.
Run it every time you change your email template, add a new sending account, or start a new campaign.
What a good score looks like
- 9 to 10: ready to send. Keep your volume steady and your list clean.
- 7 to 8: good. Fix the warnings to improve inbox placement.
- 5 to 6: risky. Usually a missing DKIM or DMARC record or a content problem.
- Below 5: likely spam. Fix the red items first, then test again.
Tips for cold email deliverability
- Set up SPF, DKIM and DMARC on every domain you send from. Check them with the free Email Domain Checker.
- Warm up new inboxes and keep daily volume low at first.
- Use one or two links on your own domain. Avoid link shorteners.
- Write plain, personal emails. Skip heavy images and marketing phrases.
- Verify every address before sending to keep bounces under 2%.
Email Spam Test features
- Reads the real authentication results: SPF, DKIM and DMARC pass or fail, and whether DKIM is aligned with your From domain.
- Finds the sending server IP and checks its reverse DNS and 8 blacklists, including Spamhaus.
- Checks your domain records too, so you see the cause of a failure, not just the result.
- Content check: spam trigger phrases, capital letters, empty subject, image-heavy emails and missing plain-text versions.
- Link check: shorteners, links to raw IP addresses, too many links, and blacklisted link domains.
- Format check: Message-ID, Reply-To on another domain, List-Unsubscribe and one-click unsubscribe headers.
- A shareable report link, kept for 30 days. The email itself is deleted from our test inbox after reading.
Email Spam Test FAQ
Does this show if my email will land in Gmail spam?
No tool can promise that, because Gmail also looks at how people react to your emails. The test checks everything you control: authentication, sending server, content and links. Fix those and your chances are much better.
What happens to my email?
It is read once to create the report, then deleted from our test inbox. Only the report (scores, headers we checked and findings) is kept, for 30 days.
Why did my email not arrive?
Check the address was copied exactly. Some providers delay new recipients for a few minutes. If it still does not arrive in 15 minutes, start a new test.
Can I test emails from my outreach tool?
