ICD-10-CM questions

What is ICD-10-CM?

ICD-10-CM is the diagnosis code set used in the United States on medical claims, superbills and health records. The CDC National Center for Health Statistics maintains it and publishes a new version every October 1.

Which version is shown here?

What does billable mean?

A billable code is the most specific code available and can go on a claim. Header codes, like a three-character category with codes beneath it, group related codes and cannot be billed on their own.

How do I add a diagnosis code to a superbill?

Open any code page and choose Superbill Generator. The code is added for you, and you can search for more codes inside the tool.
