DMARC Checker

Check your DMARC policy and generate a DMARC record.

DMARC record generator

Start with p=none to collect reports, then move to quarantine and reject once only your real services send as your domain.

Add this TXT record at host _dmarc

v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:dmarc@yourdomain.com

How it works

1

Enter your domain

Type the domain you send email from.

2

Read your policy

See your policy, reporting address, percentage and alignment settings, with warnings.

3

Generate a record

Build a DMARC record and copy it into your DNS at host _dmarc.

The path to a strong DMARC policy

  • Start with p=none: you collect reports without affecting delivery.
  • Read the reports for a few weeks: make sure every service that sends as you passes SPF or DKIM.
  • Move to p=quarantine: failing email goes to spam.
  • Finish with p=reject: failing email is blocked, so no one can fake your domain.

Gmail and Yahoo requirements

Anyone sending 5,000 or more emails a day to Gmail or Yahoo addresses must publish a DMARC record (p=none is enough to start) and pass SPF or DKIM for the From domain. A DMARC record helps smaller senders too.

DMARC Checker features

  • Checks for a DMARC record, including one inherited from the main domain.
  • Explains your policy in plain words: monitor, send to spam, or block.
  • Warns about p=none, missing reports and partial pct.
  • Generator for a correct DMARC record, with reporting address and alignment options.

DMARC Checker FAQ

What DMARC policy should I use?

Start with p=none and a rua reporting address, then move to quarantine and reject once your reports are clean.

Where do I add the DMARC record?

As a TXT record at the host _dmarc in your domain DNS, for example _dmarc.yourcompany.com.

Do I need DMARC if I send only a few emails?

It is strongly recommended. It protects your domain from being faked and helps your emails reach the inbox.
